Keola (Life) Film

Los Angeles, California

The Challenge

  • Ocean LIFE has little ability to communicate to Human LIFE
  • Achieving a powerful quality of LIFE on land is globally dependent on thriving marine LIFE
  • Majority of 7.6 billion people on earth are unaware of the negative effects of ocean pollution
  • Marine LIFE is measurably dying
  • “In recent years, major increases in coral bleaching, plastic pollution, and overfishing resulted in severe degradation of delicate marine ecosystems, i.e., LIFE.”  – Katy Waters
  • Coral Bleaching: Since 2016, over half of the world’s largest reef system is dead, significantly disrupting biodiversity
  • Plastic Pollution: Over 8 million tons of plastic are dumped in the ocean every year, causing deaths of over 1 million animals per year, and contaminating human food systems
  • Overfishing: Approximately 80% of the world’s fisheries are over-exploited, depleted, or in states of collapse
